NYC48: AKB48 will rock New York in September

Start spreading the news, I'm leaving today
I want to be a part of it: New York, New York...

If you ever thought it was a rumor, if you ever thought it was a dream... Well, you were wrong.

The Japanese press confirmed it first, then AKB confirmed it in a concert, and now finally the New York Anime Festival (NYAF) has confirmed too that AKB48 is going to New York!!!!

We were waiting so much for this official news!

After Paris, our beloved girls go to the States. Closer and closer to us... hehe.

Fans were a bit grumpy about the fact of not having an early confirmation of the news because of many of then are traveling from other states or even other countries, so late official news were not helping.

As an example, plane tickets from Santiago (Chile) were USD$800 in July (by the time we knew they'd go) and today the prices have gone up to USD$1,200. Plus, booking the hotel is an issue, too. Not that we can go anyways =(

NYAF staff has said they just couldn't make the announcement earlier as they wished. Perhaps AKS wasn't confirming the dates and activities yet? Probably, we all know AKS is a bit messy.

So, what will be the AKB48 activities in NY?

AKB48 will hold a Q&A session, autographing, and short concert at the Jacob Javits Center on Saturday, September 26, and the musical group will then present a free concert at NYC's Webster Hall on Sunday, September 27th.

The members attending NYAF are still unknown. If we keep in mind what happened with Paris, we shouldn't except official and certain news until a couple of weeks before the event.

Now, Sayaka has been mentioning overseas a lot in her FC blog entries lately and also in interviews so maybe she is going. Plus, the management should know by know she's very popular among foreign fans so not send her would be a let down. I'm sure sending Sayaka would give extra point to AKB48! Just see what happened in Paris. From the total of new fans due to the Paris Expo, an 80% ended up being a Sayaka fan and from the total of old Sayaka fans what went to the expo, the 100% ended up liking her more or linking her from first time!

So listen to me, AKS: Send Sayaka to NY, dammit! =D

Now, to every AKB48 fan in USA: Do an effort and go to NY, AKB48 needs you there. ;)

All this NY thing makes me feel very excited yet sad because there is no way to go. It sucks to be down here.

Anyways, since we know we have lots of reader from the US, we will keep you informed about AKB in NY!

AKB48 wins: Iiwake Maybe hits #1 in Oricon (and kicks Smap's ass =D)

You probably heard it by now...

AKB48 latest single, Iiwake Maybe, hit Oricon #1 with its first day sales!!!! (57,456 copies sold)

And they left SMAP in the second position. Haha!
People will say now SMAP isn't what it was before *words, words, words* to try to undermine AKB's achievement, but don't get fooled my fellows! THIS IS A TOTAL AKB48 WIN, NO MATTER WHAT.

The best of this number one, is that Iiwake Maybe represents Sayaka's comeback after a 2 singles in a row absence. ^__^

Sayaka, you're making history.

AKB, you are making history, and no one will ever erase this achievement from history's pages... *^___^*

Now we just have to wait and see the sales during the week. Let's make of this something big!

Did you buy your copy? :o

You haven't? o_O

We did! But they haven't arrived yet ^^;

Congratulations, AKB. You don't know how happy and proud of you we are right now. Keep ruling, remember the sky's the limit!

The new Teams of AKB48 (a post-trauma analysis)

Hey, Heiwa speaking!

I'll talk about the reorganized Teams hot topic :P
I know Ange already informed you about the situation but I came here to do a kind of different thing XD

I want to show you more or less what I think about this new Aki-P strategy.

Even though as fans of the original AKB formation we are a bit angry and sad, I think the way of thinking of the management isn't crazy after all because if we analyze thoughtfully, this will have benefits for every Team regarding popularity and the members that will attract more people to the theater. Because as you know, this is a money issue :P

First, we have the old Team A, that was composed mostly by very popular girls: Acchan, Mariko, Takamina, Haruna, Itano, and Miichan, who always had participated in every AKB single from the very beginning and that have kept (mostly) they huge popularity.
The Team has also Sato Yukari, who due to her PB sales, increased her fans number, and was chosen as a senbatsu.
Then, new girls arrived to the Team: Kitarie and Myao, that always had the A fans fondness, who made them very popular almost from their first day. This also made possible they could be part of singles.
Amina is a special case, because she was chosen as a senbatsu thanks to her loyal (and rich) fans. We also have Akicha, who was chosen as an undergirl and is loved by many fans as the other new members. Lastly, we have Chisato, that was about to become an undergirl (according to the election), and Reinyan, whose election ranking is unknown, but that was part of a couple of singles, so that means she also brings some people to the theater. As you can see, Team A was loaded of popular girls, thus unbalancing the Team itself and the whole group.

The NEW Team A would have the following "hierarchy":

We still se a lot of popular and flagship A members but the new members have adjusted the balance a bit. So we have: 6 senbatsu, 4 undergirls plus 3 other girls from other old Teams, and 4 Research Students.

Let's analyze Team K now (T____T me cries, but I have to be cold to tell this theory).
The old Team K distinguished always for having its own and unique hallmark (can't…be… objective… u.u) but if we face the sorry truth, it didn't have many popular girls, not at least as Team A.

The first in mind is Yuko, who has always been the most popular one and has participated in every single from the beginning. Same as Tomomi (U.U), Erepyon and Sae, who have always been loved by the fans. Then there is Sayaka, that was - from her first day - a flagship member together with the girls I told before, but somewhere in the past some of her fans seemed to forget her and this made she were left out of some singles. However, her optimism and impetus made her to steal hearts from all over the world, being chosen again as a senbatsu.
Then we have Asuka, who joined Team K and immediately turned popular and loved. She even was a senbatsu in 10nen Zakura but then was left out, returning to the last single with the 21 rank. Another case is Meetan, who never was popular until 2008, when she stole the hearts of many fans due to AKBINGO (called differently back then) and thanks to her sympathy, bravery and hallmark. This allowed her to be chosen to be in the Baby! Baby! Baby! single. Then Akimoto made her suffer with her solo single sale, threatening her exit from the group if she didn't manage to sell a certain number of copies. However, Meetan managed to do it and kept being a member of this amazing Team K, although she didn't appeared in the next singles. But she was chosen an undergirl thanks to the elections.
We also have many members who appeared a few times in singles: Natsumi (Aitakatta, Sakura 2008 and also undergirl), Yuka (Keibetsu, Seifuku, Bingo! and undergirl), Kana (Seifuku and Keibetsu), Nacchi (Keibetsu), Macchan (Bingo) Umechan (Aitakatta y BBB), and Nonti (Aitakatta). Lastly, the new Team K face, Chikano Rina, who is very cute but, let's face it, never became popular.

NEW Team K "hierarchy" as follows:

6 senbatsus, 1 undergirl (with the majority of votes) plus 6 members of old Teams, 3 Research Students and a special case: "The Aayarin Strike" (as I call her). As you know, she was a Team B member, she was fired because she had a boyfriend and then came back as a RS and now she managed to enter a Team, this time, to the best of them!

To finish, we have the least popular and valued Team: B.

Even though they have very loyal fans that defend them to death, we all know there are just a few girls in this Team who really shine.
First, Mayuyu, who was always a non-stop senbatsu, and was in many occasions the only B member to be in a single. Then we have Yukirin, that was gaining popularity little by little as at first she was in Bingo! only. However, she was chosen later for BBB and since then no one has been able to stop her. She even was chosen as senbatsu for the last single ranking at 10.
After Ayarin was fired, her substitute in B3 was Sasshi, who replaced Ayarin so well that she won over the fans respect and was chosen as a senbatsu from Oogoe Diamond. In the past election she was only chosen as an undergirl, though. Then we have Aika, who is part of a unit and has been raising fans that made her a senbatsu for first time in this last single (I'm so happy for her ^^).
Then appears Cindy (old Team A), who never was popular, but called herself the "leader of Team B" and many people liked her way to be. Thanks to her interesting advertisement in the senbatsu election videos, people rewarded her choosing her as a senbatsu for first time ever.
Then we have some girls who were chosen undergirls: Yonechan andHaruka, who have never been senbatsu, and Nacchan (old A, too), who was senbatsu twice and is also member of a unit. Team B has also Moeno and Harugon, who couldn't be undergirls but have always had the support of Team B fans. We also have two members that have always been in the B shadows: Nakayan and Tanamin, very talented girls but not really popular, who haven't had big roles in AKB48. Finally, two new girls who haven't had the chances to show their talent: Kohara and Nakatsuka.

NEW Team B "hierarchy":

6 senbatsu, 2 undergirls plus 4 old Teams members, and 4 RS (one was chosen senbatsu in a single).

As you see, the conclusion is that all this is a strategy to balance the Teams because every one has 6 popular members now. This will eventually attract more people to the theater, since they will want to see them all, or that's what the management thinks at least. We just have to wait and see. Will this be the best? Will we get used to it? Time will tell…

Now I'm gonna go to listen to Dong Bang Shinki and watch the last stages of the REAL TEAK K.

It's time for us to wave goodbye the Teams we were used to. It's time to wave goodbye our beloved Team K...

TEAM K FOREVER

It's hard to explain the feeling right now about this news. What will happen to the current stages is uncertain. A5 has been almost one year on stage but K5 and B4 haven't been around that much. Will they just have a sudden end? Imagine the last day of A5, K5 and B4 in October... A sea of tears.

Beyond how shocking is this news for us, the fans (we can recover and get used to it), what worries me most right now is the girls. Each Team was a family, and now they are tearing them up.

Makistar pointed me out a comment under an AKB picture in the Natalie.mu site.

With this news, there were lots of member in shock. Watanabe Mayu embraced a picture of Ota Aika, who was absent due to flu', and cried while falling on her knees. The stage was clear already, but it was still full of concerning.

I must recognize this made me sob. Mayuyu just did what maybe all the girls wanted to do. Mayuyu, the cyborg.

See what they've done to our K. All of them were special (Heiwa will say all except one, hehe, and I agree xD) and now I see their names into different places. They took Yuka, one of the best AKB voices (Team K had 3 of the best voices in AKB, IMO: Sayaka, Yuka and Nonti); they took Nonti, a good voice and the MC by nature; Meetan, our "ero-leader"; and so on... :'(

I think we should stop asking "why". We know we will never know the truth, and looking for a reason will hurt more and will makes us feel frustrated.

We can rant, but that won't help. It's done. Let's enjoy the last days of our Team as we know them.

Fans have two alternatives now: to keep supporting AKB (and their oshimen) or leaving the fandom. As simple as that.

Instead of keep ranting and wanting to assassin Akipi (valid reaction, anyways), we should just make our decision.

I might feel disappointed of this change, but Sayaka and Sae are still in the group and they still need our support. Same with Miichan, Yuka, Nonti, Sasshi and everyone. Wouldn't it be sad for them seeing their fans leaving? Moreover, seeing them leave because of management's bad decisions? I think they need our support now and I'm going to give it to them.

Team A, K and B are not really A, K and B as we knew them and liked them, but AKB48 keeps being AKB48. Let's no forget that (it took me a while to understand this...)

The darkest side of this (besides the fan rage) is how they make the girls cry. I guess the management forgets they are human. It wasn't enough with election, I wonder?
Was there a need to fix what wasn't really broken? Why do they insist on making the girls cry... If I could, I'd hug each of the girls right now. As a friend of mine says: "This will also pass..."

On a bright side, Sayaka and Sae were not separated, we still have SaeYaka/Twin Towers!

And Sayaka is New Team K captain. Kind of obvious anyways, she always was the secret K leader anyways. =D

Acchan fangirls over Sayaka

It's not a mystery anymore that Acchan fangirls over Sayaka a lot. This is not the first time we see Sayaka pictures in her blog, and let's her comments are not really saying "she's a good friend", but "OMG Sayaka wow". xD

On the sidelines of the Budoukan concert (August 22-23), Acchan talked about some of the shuffle songs on the first day and showed you a couple of Sayaka pictures!

Acchan wrote more or less...

Nagisa no Cherry Sayaka

Sayaka,
how to say so...
we can say she's cute but
you can feel the energy.

Sayaka in Nagisa no Cherry looked frilly, but!

Sayaka in Itoshiki Natascha...

Itoshiki Natascha Sayaka

Really cool! (kakkoii)

Will make you fall in love.

Yea... it suits her...

A gap from Nagisa no Cherry to Itoshiki Natascha...

It was great.
It had to be Sayaka.

Thank you, Acchan, keep fangirling. Other fangirls will thank you. ;)

Sayaka in UTB

The super UTB magazine we told you about some days ago is already out and there is a promo video! I don't know where exactly the video comes from because the magazine doesn't include a DVD or something... But... Well.

The video basically shows the girls during the photo session and guess what:

WE WILL SHOW YOU SAYAKA SCREEN SHOTS!!!! w00t.

Warning: Bandwidth killer. =P

All the goddesses/angels together (from bottom-right): Yuko, Acchan, Sayaka, Mayuyu, Kitarie, Lovetan, Amina, Myao.

Sayaka looking like an angel *_________*

Sayaka chases Yuko!

Come here, baby...

Don't run!

Ange is jealous...

Now comes the best part.... =D

Can you recognize those? ^____^*

Yes, it's Sayaka.... *________*

She looks beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!!!

She can be cute, too. Just look at her innocence expression in the first two shots... And then on the third she goes kind of mischievous...

More close-ups (always welcome!)

OMG , isn't she a super model? :o

Now, the next ones are my favorite shots. This part was really amazing. Stunning.

And in the end, Sayaka goofs around with Yuko, Acchan and Mayuyu. ^___^

Amazing. Absolutely amazing. She's simply the best.

Sayaka lends you money... Get yourself in debt forever.

Acom is one of the biggest consume loan companies in Japan... Ok, that's not what you really want to read XD

In June we were totally excited because Mariko and Sayaka had been cross dressing for a CM. As we thought, they were taking pictures for the Acom Cash One campaign that Mariko had been promoting from a while ago.

Sayaka and Mariko (and some random girl I don't know) appear wearing delicious man suits with hot neckties. Ahhh, we should just frame these pictures...

Ok, ok, girls in suits look awesome!

Get your loan now!

AKB48 bikini overdose: General election! Bikini surprise

There has been a bit stir about the bikini-oriented mook AKB48 is releasing today. Somehow, everybody wants a copy. I want a copy, you want a copy... Buy buy... @__@

The title of the mook says it all: BIKINI.

Now, besides the always healthy swimsuits, the mook is based on the past senbatsu election we've covered a lot by now. So, even though every AKB48 girl appears in this book (that includes A, K, B, RS and SKE48), the 21 senbatsu girls have a special covering. The mook includes a random poster. I don't really care about those because nor Sayaka nor Sae are featured in them. They only appear in the 21 girls poster... So, whatever the poster I get, I'm burning it... LOL.

Anyways, let's go to the most important part of this entry. Thanks to a generous Japanese fan we got the scans of the pictures even before having the mook in our hands, so here are the SaeYaka pictures:

SAE

Here we can see Sae waring a Playboy bikini that, let's be honest, looks like underwear. BUT, it's cute, and she looks great. =P

That's the only Sae picture revealed so far. She should appear in group shots, too, and in one more solo shot.

SAYAKA

First question in our minds: What is that wrap doing there?! -____-
Do not get me wrong. Sayaka looks great, but that wrap on her bottom is covering her sexy thighs and belly! And you know what Sayaka belly means for Sayakers: piercing and ABS. And those long socks are covering her lovely knee scar©® T___T

Ok, maybe we were expecting too much after the Tiger Bikini Blue Rose performance. Oh well. Things that we'll never see twice.

However, Sayaka looks extremely cute and that's something we don't see everyday. Sayaka wearing pink? Looks like only when it comes to bikinis!

Let's mention that every girl is asked about the election and AKB from now on. Sayaka, as usual lately, says she wants to take the "idol you can meet" concept not only to Japan, but also overseas. Thanks again Sayaka for thinking of us! You rule to the max!

A COUPLE OF SMALL GROUP SHOTS (trimmed):

I like the picture on the right, a lot. You can see her piercing... *___*

That's all ladies and gentlemen. Run to get your copy before it's too late. HMV has sold out the item already.

And long life to SaeYaka in bikini!

We can say we've seen an angel... Sayaka in UTB mag

Sayaka is versatile. Few days ago we were amazed by her bikini shots (in Blue Rose and Nikkan Sports) and today she bring a totally fresh image.

Weeks ago we saw some images and videos in Acchan blog (remember the bizarre Virgin Mary video?) and we knew the girls would soon appear in a magazine. Well, we just have to wait until August 22 to have that mag with us.

Up To Boy (UTB) Vol.193 presents AKB48 featuring girls like Akimoto Sayaka, Oshima Yuko and Maeda Atsuko on the cover.

I think it was yesterday when I was talking to a friend about Sayaka. I was trying to define the feeling I had when I saw the actual her for first time... So I could only say it was like seeing an angel (I won't go into personal details to explain why). So, as if God were wanting to tell I'm right about my appreciation, the cover of the upcoming UTB is available now... Be careful... It might be too shiny for you...

Image courtesy of Wani Books Shop (click to enlarge).

Call me biased, but she's the one who looks better ;) (I have the total right to be biased since this blog is a Sayaka/Sae shrine, anyways).

She looks like an angel, a real one. No, Sayaka IS an angel after all *____*

UTB Vol.193 will be released in August 22 at a price of ¥1,200. The ISBN code is 91144310.

You can find the item in the Wani Books Shop as reference (unavailable for purchases from outside Japan).

Edit:
The magazine is available in Amazon Japan. This shop offers shipping to foreign countries so, if you're interested, there you are! Click here.
