Everyday... Elections

May has started and it can only mean two things: DiVA's debut single and AKB's 21st single release. Since I've been writing a bit too much about my new obsession (aka DiVA), I'm gonna write about AKB this time.

May 25th is the date when Everyday, Kachuusha will be released. I guess you already know everything about Kachuusha: The title means "Everyday, headband", Sae is a senbatsu and Sayaka isn't, and the non-limited edition of this single includes tickets for the third AKB family senbatsu elections.


So let's go in order:

1. Headband.
Is Akipi going to release singles related to hair stuff every year by this season? What's coming next year? Curlers? xD
Now, don't get me wrong, I like the song. It's not amazing, of course, but it doesn't cause me nausea, which is good. I haven't watched the video yet because I'm lazy and I'm not very interested on it, but I've heard it included parodies of past PV's. This can only mean one thing... They're running out of ideas D:

Funny thing... The start of Kachuusha reminds me a lot the start of X Japan's Say Anything. Actually, I dare to say Kachuusha is an AKB'ed remix of Say Anything... xD

2. Sae is a senbatsu, Sayaka isn't.
This doesn't call anyone's attention anymore, does it? Sae keeps being super popular and professional and her reward is there: 100% senbatsu. What I hate of this new single, though, is that Sae was left out from the covers. I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT. Do I see this NMB girl took her place? I DON'T GET IT! Sae is much prettier u__u

Sayaka isn't a senbatsu and it's nothing new. If I base on what Akipi told Sayaka during the DiVA show in Shanghai, "I know that Akimoto has been put in a corner by her nervous condition, so much that she wanted to escape", then I can guess Sayaka's days as senbatsu are over because she's naturally nervous, it's part of her, and Akipi doesn't like that. But it's fine, I got used to the idea of not seeing her as a senbatsu and she has DiVA now, so I'm happy with that. I don't really mind the senbatsu thing anymore. The only bad thing about Sayaka not being a senbatsu is that I won't see her in bikini. But since she has been wearing lots of bikinis lately because of DiVA... xD


3. Non-limited edition of this single includes tickets for the third AKB family senbatsu elections
Elections... Again. This year I'm not even a bit excited about this. I have too many things to worry in real life to ALSO get worried about stuff of the idol world. Plus, we know the outcome of all this anyways. I'm not gonna risk my bowel again this year! Irritable bowel due to idol elections is no fun D:
Also, when things happen once and again, they're not fun anymore. Like, ask any person of the world if they like to go to vote after they have done it more than twice. In my country, voting is compulsory. Because no one would go to the polls if it wasn't an obligation. And yea, I'm that kind of citizen that gets bored easily xD

I don't know how Sayaka will do this year, and I don't know what I personally want for her. Being a senbatsu must be flattering and encouraging for her but... Last year being a senbatsu was a disgrace, imo. I don't see the point of being a senbatsu if you don't even appear in the PV. It's more like a bad joke. And I don't want to see those sad eyes saying 'I was a senbatsu, but I can barely be seen in the video' again. Wouldn't it be better if she were the first of the undergirls? At least she'd get some spotlight... But as I said, I don't want to think about it. Thankfully, Sayaka has DiVA now and at least for this year, I can rely on it.

When we speak about senbatsu... If you're below the 12th, you are nothing but a back dancer. And even worse: if you're not 1st, 2nd or 3rd you're just not that important.

Of course I bought my copies and I'm going to vote, but this time, I won't get desperate about the outcome. My oshi is so valuable, she's beyond any ballot result.

As for Sae... I've always trusted her popularity and capacity to gather fans. And this year won't be different. Sae is unique and people recognize her hard work. SHE WILL BE 6-7 THIS YEAR. SIGN THIS ON A PAPER.



Oh right.

This is cool: The election promo videos. Every year they release those awesome videos where the girls let their imagination fly and come up with crazy ideas, and this year is not different. Well, Sayaka tends to be crazier than Sae on this.

I know this blog isn't half of interesting if I don't provide translations, but I'm sorry this year I can't do it. I did it the previous years but this year my Japanese isn't as decent anymore so if I start translating the videos, I'll prolly take the whole month. But you know you can find the translations at any AKB board you visit.

The AKB official YouTube channel uploaded the videos this year, so we don't have to fear they will be removed anymore!

Sae's horrible blouse D: (I think she wore it on purpose, so no one would be able to forget it) and why SO MUCH blusher on her cheeks! Makes her look like a clown, really. A cute clown, though ^^;
